Kathleen Gerdon Archerspacer

Kathleen Gerdon Archer investigates issues of family and personal history through painting and photography. Her mixed-media "Ex-Voto" series is comprised of paintings of the 23 men in her family. The digital photography series "A Mapmaker's Dream" traces the incorporation of life-altering change into her life.

She lives in Beverly, Massachusetts, on Boston’s North Shore and maintains a studio at The Redbrick Art Center. A member of The Copley Society of Boston, The Cambridge Art Association, and “Ten Webster St.”, a professional women’s artist salon, she enhances her education with master classes, studying with Anne Harris, Cynthia Packard, and George Nick.

She has participated in numerous exhibits and shows, including “New Photography” at the Kingston Gallery in Boston’s South End, “The 14th Annual Juried Show” at The Essex Arts Center, and “Works on Paper” at The South Shore Art Center in Hingham, Mass.

A May 2008 solo photography show at The Copley Society of Art in Boston will feature work from her ongoing series, “A Mapmaker’s Dream”.
