EX-VOTO

Ex-Voto — A painting or other object left as an offering in fulfillment of a vow.

The mixed-media "Ex-Voto" series is comprised of paintings of the 23 men in my family, and myself, the only female.
Each person is shown surrounded by photographic sections of their homes which I collage on to a white ground.
After painting over them with a light wash, I draw loosely and intuitively showing the individual as I perceive them or sense they wish to be perceived.
